Friday has arrived, #ciderfriends, and what a beautiful day it is!
The arrival of Friday means we’ve got a brand-new version of The Double Tap List for you, our weekly roundup of the most notable and like-worthy cider content on Instagram. It has been another busy week in the #ciderworld, with festival vibes, Teacher Appreciation Week and movie night.

Festival season is upon us! What better way to start your weekend then with the 8th Annual North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival this Friday, May 11th and Saturday, May 12th. Windy Hill Orchard will be showing off their best ciders, alongside Noble Cider and Bold Rock Hard Cider. Starting at 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon, your festival ticket gives you access to all of the participating breweries and cideries, and all music you can handle. Start the weekend right with the Friday Night Jam, featuring Acoustic Syndicate, Larry Keel Experience and Josh Daniel/Mark Schimick Project. For more information, check out the festival website.

How do you all feel about mysteries? I love a good guessing game — and Ironwood Hard Cider has just provided the first clue about what their new limited edition cider will be. Any guesses as to what this could possibly be? Ok, so we all know that Meghan and Harry are having a banana-flavored cake at their royal reception (I’m still waiting on my invitation), but, clearly, that is not a banana and this is only the first clue. I guess we will just have to wait for clue #2! If you don’t want to have to wait for their limited-edition release, then find yourself a 6-pack of Ironwood Original, a 6% ABV cider made from 100% fresh Ontario apples! Yum!

This past Tuesday, May 8th, marked the beginning of National Teacher Appreciation Week, a week where we honor all of our great teachers and the fantastic contributions they are making to the education system. Bold Rock Hard Cider is saying “Thank You” to all of the great teachers that help educate and empower students every day. So, if you are a student and you want to make bonus points with your teacher, forget the apple, and bring them a can of Bold Rock Hard Cider instead. (I’m kidding: Don’t bring your teacher hard cider in school! Wait to give it to them after school…).

Movie night is always better with a comedy. Mrs. Doubtfire was made in 1993, but it is still just as funny as it was when it first came out. So, if you love Mrs. Doubtfire and you love cider, then Broad Street Cider was the place to be on Wednesday, May 9th. If you were there, maybe you got fancy with a glass of Duchess of Devonshire, a cider made with Earl Grey Tea? (And, hopefully, you brought your own chair!) The “Yappy Hour” festivities at the Barrelhouse and Whiskey Garden will be from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. this Mother’s Day. You are probably wondering how a whiskey garden made this list… Well, the owners of Wigle Whiskey in Pittsburgh just happen to also be the owners of Threadbare Cider and Mead. How convenient is that?! So, if whiskey is not your jam, fear not!
