Welcome to September, #ciderworld! It’s official: Fall is on its way. As hard as it is, we have to put away those beach chairs and bathing suits and get ready to unpack our jeans and boots. The prime apple-picking season is upon us, though, so let’s get excited!
We are celebrating the end of the workweek the only way we know how — with a brand-new version of The Double Tap List, our curated roundup of the most notable and like-worthy cider content that we discovered on Instagram over the past seven days. The first week of September has been a laid-back week, but the weekend has bunches of fun in store! #Ciderfans can look forward to fun for the whole family, the Seattle Cider Summit and a new cidery opening!

California’s Turquoise Barn Cider needs your vote! The polls are open for the 17th Annual San Diego City Beat’s Best of San Diego readers’ poll. The Best of San Diego is a way for the readers to vote for their favorite locations, from shopping and dining experiences, to media outlets, musicians and so much more. Now through September 25, locals can help vote their favorite into the winners’ bracket by simply casting a vote here! Help Turquoise Barn Cider and other local cideries earn their chance for the title of “Best Cidery.”

This Friday, September 7, join locals for a family-friendly event that you won’t want to miss. The Cidery at Chatham Berry Farm is hosting a family night, with plenty of food and activities for both adults and kids. Lawn games and board games will be out for everyone to enjoy (I’m crossing my fingers for you that they have cornhole!). But, get ready for this part: There will be free s’mores! FREE! I see challenges being placed between parents and children of who can eat the most s’mores. (Sorry, kids, but your parents have had too much practice to lose!) For all the adults, the cidery will be serving up local New York ciders on its five guest taps. Do you know what cider tastes best with s’mores? ANY cider, because what wouldn’t pair well with chocolate and marshmallows?! Best of all, you can bring the whole family because well-behaved dogs are welcome, as well!

The 9th Annual Cider Summit Seattle kicks off Friday, September 7, for two days of all-things-cider. It is the Northwest region’s largest cider event and it will not disappoint attendees, with its 150+ ciders on tap, including some regional favorites and international classics, alike. Usual suspects, such as Angry Orchard and Cider Riot!, will be in attendance, but keep your eyes peeled and tickets ready for some other local favorites. Clearly Seattle Cider Company will make an appearance at this hometown event and it will be bringing the Pumpkin Spice to the party. Swift Cider will be there, as well, and if you haven’t had a chance to taste their Marionberry, here is your chance! VIP and General Admission tickets are still available. General Admission tickets will include a souvenir tasting glass and 16 tasting tickets. Get your tickets here.

Sometimes, it is the comments on Instagram posts that get my attention even more than the pictures! What is “yacht rock attire,” you ask? Who knows, but I bet one of the only places you will be able to find it is at The King’s Highway Cider Shack. Located at McEnroe Organic Farm in Millerton, New York, The Cider Shack serves up cider, farm beer and wine at an adorable shack next to the organic farm market. Open Friday through Sunday, guests can enjoy yummy eats, while relaxing with a can of some Kings Highway Cider, like Ginger Snap, made with local Hudson Valley Apples and fermented with roasted ginger and lemongrass. Bring your dog along, too, for a laid-back, carefree weekend. Don’t forget to keep your attire casual — yacht rock casual!
